Soldiers among those tried and acquitted in Turkish civilian courts

Where should a case be tried? If the accused is a military person and the offense is related to military service, one would normally expect it to be tried in a military court. Here, however, is a story of Turkish military personnel tried (along with many others) in civilian court on espionage charges -- and acquitted.
